Launch of the Seren Foundation
Seren Foundation – Honouring a Legacy, Raising Awareness, Saving Lives
Inspired by one man's journey. Dedicated to making a difference in the lives of many.
The Seren Foundation was established in honour of Douglas Chinamo, the father of Seren Healthcare Solutions' Founder and Chief Executive Officer, whose journey of resilience, courage and hope inspires our commitment to raising awareness of prostate cancer.
Now aged 88, Douglas has lived with prostate cancer for more than a decade. His story is particularly poignant: five of his siblings died from the disease. His experience underscores the importance of awareness, timely medical intervention and ongoing care, while recognising that every person's experience of cancer is different.
The Foundation is dedicated to promoting prostate cancer awareness, encouraging open conversations about men's health and helping to break down the stigma, fear and cultural barriers that can prevent men from seeking medical advice.
Through community outreach, educational initiatives, awareness events and partnerships, we aim to help men understand their individual risk factors, including family history, and feel confident seeking appropriate medical guidance.
We are especially passionate about reaching communities where access to information is limited or where social and cultural barriers may contribute to delayed diagnosis.

A Father's Strength. A Family's Journey. A Legacy of Hope.
Behind the Seren Foundation is a deeply personal story of courage, family and hope. Douglas Chinamo, now 88 years old, has lived with prostate cancer for more than ten years. His journey has been shaped by timely intervention and ongoing care.
For the Chinamo family, prostate cancer is not simply a health issue. It has profoundly affected the family, claiming the lives of five of Douglas's siblings.
Inspired by her father's journey, Seren Healthcare Solutions' Founder and CEO established the Seren Foundation to honour his strength and help other men and families through awareness, education and community engagement.
Douglas's story reminds us that behind every diagnosis is a person, a family and a future worth protecting.
His journey inspires our mission. His resilience strengthens our purpose. His legacy lives through the Seren Foundation.

Our first team away day provided an opportunity to connect beyond the workplace, strengthen relationships and recognise the importance of teamwork. Time together away from everyday routines helped create space for conversation, shared experiences and a renewed sense of connection to our common purpose.
The day reflected our belief that positive working relationships are essential to a supportive culture and to the compassionate care we deliver.
Away Day Two – Growing Stronger Together
Our second away day continued our commitment to bringing colleagues together, celebrating our people and strengthening the connections that make Seren a team. It offered another opportunity to share experiences, build relationships and reinforce the values that guide our work.
Together, our away days demonstrate that investing in people means creating opportunities not only to learn and lead, but also to connect and feel valued.
